Stone fortifications of Famagusta’s old town

Massive walls and bastion fortifications are built of light-colored stone. In the lower part, a narrow arched passage with a grille is visible, while sun-scorched grass grows on the ledges and tops of the walls; pine trees stand in front of the fortifications.
